i love spike's 'you glow' line but for me it is overshadowed by the absolute gut punch that is 'it's nice to watch you be happy. for them, even. i don't see it a lot.' like how heartwrenching is that!!!! he KNOWS that he doesn't make her happy, that no matter how hard he tries he can't make her happy, that she's miserable when she goes to him. but he loves seeing her happy so much that it doesn't even matter if it's because of someone else... he'll take it. god. those are the words of a soulless demon people

it’s so difficult when what you’re looking for in a tv show or movie just isn’t quantifiable. i’m definitely not looking for a copious amount of sex scenes or something particularly steamy. i want to watch something that shows the intimacy and the strength of the bond that can form between two people, which is kind of really difficult to search for. it’s that element that makes marianne and connell so compelling, and what all the best skam seasons embody. i’m literally just going to list the shows and movies which i think fit this feeling, please feel free to add to it.

Just re-watched Tabula Rasa and I’m trying to decide which scenario would be the best in an au where Faith was there. My options are:

Wakes up snuggled up with Spike and it’s assumed they’re a couple. Giles disapproves of his ‘son’s’ relationship and this is used as more argument fodder between Randy and Giles. Faith and Anya nearly get into a fist fight. ‘Joan’ is jealous but she’s not sure who she’s jealous of.

Wakes up snuggled up with Tara and they assume that they’re a couple. They act super giggly and flirty with each other and everyone’s amazed at how they’re obviously the most perfect couple even without their memories. (Things are kind of awkward between Faith and Willow for a little while after this one)

She has some of Dawn’s spare clothes or homework or something on her which leads her and Buffy to argue over which one of them is actually Dawn’s sister.

I’m not sure what position they could be in that would convince this particular group of this scenario, but for some reason it is assumed that she is in a throuple with Giles and Anya. Again this is used as argument fodder between Randy and Giles. “And you call me Randy!”

No matter what though, she has at least two or three ID’s on her with a different name on each (none of them are her actual name). One of them has a stereotypical stripper sounding name which is the name that Faith wants to go by, but one of the names is ‘Hope’ which either Buffy, Tara, or Dawn says they like (depending on which scenario we’re going with) so she goes along with it.

Little Paige stealing every scene she's in. She is so talented. And her actually interacting with Adult Paige was a fun addition to their dynamic. Paige's family is dysfunctional af but they really do seem to love her which is really nice. I also noticed Shiri Appleby directed this ep and last 👀.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer (rw) 3x10 Amends

As the Christmas holiday approaches, Angel is tormented by evil apparitions who want him to eliminate Buffy.

The 5-episode hot streak had to end some time I guess. An episode of Angel moping about pathetically. Bored now. When Buffy and Faith making peace and potentially having a genuine connection was right there. It was literally written like she invited her girlfriend home for the holidays, and we barely go to see any of it.

Amerie, the new outcast, receives a party invitation that gives her butterflies. But when she manages to show up, a bitter surprise awaits.

Why was the photo of her and Harper nearly kissing the one Amerie zoomed in on? And to help Quinni get Sasha's attention why was Amerie's solution to try and kiss Quinni? And why did Harper not play a love song outside Amerie's window to try and win her back?

It's so heartbreaking to see all the moments in which Spike offers Buffy such a understanding and tender love, giving her feelings the importance they deserve and how she cannot accept or understand it. She's always been taught about bad and good in such a strict way and getting the support and love from someone she always saw as strictly evil while her friends are so caught up in their world to see her for the human who suffers and needs to rely on people sometimes instead of always being the hero must be so confusing.
